Projectors that Show Movies Floating in Mid-Air and in Sphere

Those who managed to visit the CREATEC Japan 2010 exhibition were able to witness the very nice projectors from Ishikawa Optics&Arts Corp.

The strangely-looking displays called Space Projector and Crystal-ball Display can show movies in a see-through spherical object where the video content floats in the mid-air.
The two displays are able to show almost any type of video content, starting with the one user shot on their camera and till computer graphics.

The first display, called Space Projector, resembles a rear projector without screen. After projecting the light, the projector creates an image at a certain distance. When you view the image from the front you get the impression as though the image floats in the mid-air.

The device can be purchased for 650,000 Yuan, which is about $ 7,947.

The Crystal-ball Display is the device the shows you the movie inside the see-though spherical object.

The light that is projected on the Crystal-ball Display forms a layer inside the object and it plays the role of a screen.

The crystal balls are 100mm and 200mm in diameter and wear the price tags of 250,000 Yuan and 800,000 Yuan respectively.
